The New Jersey American Water Company has announced that it will be flushing its distribution system in Mendham Township on April 18 and April 19.

The company has indicated to the Township that it will make every effort to minimize inconvenience to residents. There will, however, be some water in the streets, and residents in the areas where work is taking place may experience low pressure or discolored water. Residents impacted by discolored water should run their water for a brief time after the flushing is finished for the day. This should clear the discoloration. Residents may also want to avoid washing laundry during flushing hours.

The program will not cause any disruption to fire services.
