MENDHAM TOWNSHIP MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE TO HOLD SECOND PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF THE TOWNSHIP

The Mendham Township Master Plan committee will hold a second public meeting to discuss the vision of the Township’s future on Wednesday, October 20^th at 8:00 P.M. in the Township Municipal Building at the corner of Cherry Lane and West Main Street in Brookside. The drafting of a vision statement will be the first step in the process of drafting a new Master Plan to guide the future of the Township.

The Mendham Township Planning Board established the Master Plan Committee to draft a new Master Plan for presentation to the full Planning Board . It will be Mendham Township’s first new Master Plan since 1983. The members of the Committee are Planning Board Chairman Alan Willemsen and Vice Chairman Samuel Tolley, Township Committee members Sante D’Emidio and Robert Pierson, Environmental Commission member Sarah Dean Link and the Township Planner Duggan Kimball.

The Committee held its first meeting on August 18^th and elected Samuel Tolley as its chairman. It plans to meet monthly or bi-monthly to draft the new plan expecting to present a preliminary draft to the Mendham Township Planning Board and public sometime next year. One of the Committee’s mandates is to solicit the input of interested groups and citizens in the drafting of the various elements of the plan. Key groups will be contacted and invited to provide input at appropriate times during the drafting process. All Master Plan Committee meetings will be open to the public.

The public meeting on October 20^th will continue the dialogue begun at the first public meeting held on October 4.  The input received from these public meetings will set the overall direction for the new master plan. Interested residents and groups are invited to present their concerns and views to the Committee in writing or by attendance at meetings.
