Gong Meditation Journey
Join us at Schiff Nature Preserve for an amazing journey inward. When fully engaged in listening to the Gong, you will be encapsulated within the sound field, merging with the sound as it travels through the body. The sound experience produces the effect of journeys. As the frequencies of the gong travel throughout your body, you are enabled to relax and enter a deep meditative state during some experience a journey outward, and a profound expansion of mind state. Member fee is $15. Non member fee is $20.

Join Schiff Nature Preserve for an easy hike and gentle yoga session, suitable for both beginners and experienced practitioners. We will begin with a meditation and centering session indoors, then enjoy a beautiful hike through the landscapes of Schiff Nature Preserve, enjoying the detoxifying quality of being present in nature. Tree Time for Tykes- Lovely Leaves
Join Schiff naturalist at the Nature Center before entering the preserve on a hike. Learn about leaves: the plant food factory! Stories, craft and a walk will make this a fun learning experience for all. Utilizing observation, songs, stories, and a craft; we will learn about these oxygen makers and shade providers of our environment. Ages 2-4 with an adult. Adults accompany their children. Members pay $10 per adult/child pair. Non members pay $15 per adult/child pair.

Volunteer Day at Schiff
Please join Schiff members, staff, and volunteers as we embark on an outdoor land steward project to improve the Schiff Natural Land Trust. Our volunteer work days are great for teens, adults, church groups, service groups, scout troops, or anyone else looking to earn community service or environmental karma credits! Come lend a hand with trail maintenance, fence repair, invasive species removal, native plant garden maintenance, and home repair. Wear weather appropriate clothes, sturdy work boots, and yard gloves. We will provide water, snacks, and insight into the importance of the preservation work we do here at Schiff. Ages 15+, please.

Fire by Friction
Mike Dennis, outdoorsman, presents the traditions, crafts and skills of life in the wilderness. In this fun and engaging presentation Mr. Dennis will demonstrate one of the most important skills needed to survive in in the wilderness: Fire. Mr. Dennis teaches important basic awareness of the Environment and how to respect and Create Fire by Friction and Flint! We will learn how to create a Fire as Native Americans and Prairie Settlers did in the Old West using simple materials found in the wild. Minimum registration of 12 participants must be met for this program to occur. Register today! Member fee is $20 and non member fee is $25.

Make Your Own (Recycled) Fabric Pumpkins
Personalize your pumpkin patch for your fall table decor. Get out your old shirts, skirts, or any other interesting fabric you no longer have a use for. Using rice, real pumpkin stems, and a little batting, we'll make a patch of super cute decorative pumpkins for the season. Member fee is $25. Non-member fee is $30. Minimum age for this program is 21.
