FREE RADON KITS are now available from the Mendham Township Health Department!

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas, which has always been a part of our environment. It's a natural decay product of uranium and is found in soil everywhere in varying concentrations. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) have found that radon can also be an unwelcome part of our home environment.  The DEP has determined that radon is a statewide health issue. They have initiated the Radon Awareness Program (RAP) to encourage residents to test their homes. The FREE Test Kits include a Charcoal Canister, chain of custody, instructions, and prepaid US Postal Service Label for return mailing, analysis, and report generation.  You may also drop off your kit within 6 days of test in a drop box located at: RAdata, Inc. 27 Ironia Road, Unit 2 Flanders, New Jersey 07836
